Reading & Writing

Reading & Writing starts with the passage, then evidence, then revision.

Use this page for Reading & Writing. Read the text first, then answer with evidence or revise a short response.

Session area

Start or continue

Start with a passage-first reading session. Use review for recent evidence, then writing revision when you are ready to improve a response.

Read a passage

Starts one short reading session where the passage comes first and questions follow the text.

Review reading evidence

Reviews recent reading evidence, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.

Revise writing

Starts a scaffolded writing or revision activity using evidence and clearer sentences.

Passage-first flow

Read the text before answering

Reading & Writing tasks should show the article, passage, or source text first. Questions, evidence, and revision steps come after the learner has read the text.

1. Passage

Read the passage or article first. The student page should never begin with isolated questions when a text is required.

2. Evidence

Answer with details from the text, vocabulary clues, and short evidence-based explanations.

3. Revision

Improve a response by making the idea clearer, adding evidence, and revising sentence structure.
